Wonderful Giclee print of watercolor painting by Robert MacIsaac an eminent Michigan artist. This work show several ship at harbor for the night. A lovely evening sun is setting gin the background. Rich color of yellow and orange pop out the silhouette of the ships. The work is in excellent condition. It is matted with a rich charcoal mat and framed in a exquisite rounded gold wood frame. Robert Mac Isaac was born in Detroit, Michigan in October of 1925 where he began to foster his significant artist talent. He spent much of his professional career in Novi, MI where he gained recognition for his beautiful landscapes and maritime activities of Michigan . He was also a renowed graphic designer. His work can still be viewed in the seal of the city of Novi. Robert was a decorated World War II veteran and produced many exemplary and vivid pieces up to his death in Clearwater, FL in December of 2000.
In giclee printing, no screen or other mechanical devices are used and therefore there is no visible dot screen pattern. The image has all the tonalities and hues of the original painting. Giclee (pronounced Gee?clay) is a French term meaning to spray or squirt, which is how an inkjet printer works. However, it is not the same as a standard desktop inkjet printer, and is much larger.
