Popular Silent-Era actress (1892-1930) who, after a colorful career that included a number of scandals, died of tuberculosis at age 37. Vintage sepia matte-finish 6.25 x 8.5 photo of an artist’s portrait of Normand, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To J. B. McKillen, my sincere best wishes and kind thoughts always, Mabel Normand.” In fine condition. Throughout the 1920s her name was linked with widely publicized scandals including the 1922 murder of William Desmond Taylor and the 1924 shooting of Courtland S. Dines, who was shot by Normand's chauffeur with her pistol. She was not a suspect in either crime.
