TLS, 1p, Jan 16, 1935, 4to, Rome, to Mr Kremer. "...I am a Roman Catholic, although part of my family is of Jewish origin. Anyhow, in Italy we are all and only Italians, whatever the religion may be, and there are not Jews, but only Italians of Jewish religion, citizens with equal rights & duties..." Interesting content from the woman who according to biographer Denis Mack Smith "fell victim to Mussolini's anti-jewish legislation." She was perhaps fortunate in this regard as the woman who supplanted her, Clara Petacci, was executed with Duce on April 28, 1945 by partisans. Light mounting traces on verso.
