Aurangzeb, Copper Paisa, 13.30g, Unattributed, struck imitating the design of the silver rupees of Aurangzeb, from North Karnataka area. Very fine, rare.
It is not certain who struck these coins, but they are chiefly encountered in the North Karnataka / West Telingana regions. Most likely contenders could be local Rajas / Polygars of the Bagalkot – Bellary – Mahbubnagar belt.
