MOORE, THOMAS
(1779 - 1852) Irish author and balladeer, a close friend of Roger Emmet, whose death inspired his famous poem 'O breathe not his name'. Lot of two A.L.S. ca. 1815-1833, one with good literary content, in small part: ""...What I trouble you with this letter here for is to beg you will call upon Arnold of Drury Lane for me as soon as possible, and...from him with certainty when he thinks Mr. Wilmot's tragedy will come out...it has been often post-poned that I do not like to send up my Epilogue, till I have something more certain than his announcement of it...if the Tragedy really does come out in April, it is high time the Epilogue should be sent..."". Two pieces, a bit of staining and folds, overall very good.
