MONTEREY POP

One Sheet (27" x 41")
Fine Rolled; Artwork by Tomi Ungerer
Leacock-Pennebaker, 1968

This one sheet, designed by Tomi Ungerer, exhibits moderate handling wear with multiple small tears around the white borders, with some reinforced with tape on the verso as well as a lower right corner tear which has been repaired with tape on the recto. There are many small creases across the lower half which have been concealed by a prior owner with ballpoint pen.

Tomi Ungerer was a renowned illustrator, publishing over one hundred books throughout his career. In 1998, he was honored with the prestigious international Hans Christian Andersen Medal for his significant and lasting contributions to children's literature as an illustrator. While Ungerer did not design many film posters, he is most famous for creating the posters for "Dr. Strangelove," as well as illustrating the film's titles.
