(1890 - 1986) Soviet politician, a staunch supporter of Stalin who served as Prime Minister and later as Stalin's commissar of foreign affairs, served as the Soviet spokesman at Tehran, Yalta, Potsdam and San Francisco. A.E.S. at the top of a partial T.L.S. sent to him, Kuibyshev, July 13, 1942 in which it is reported that the U.S. Embassy has advised that the present trade agreement between the two countries shall expire within three weeks. The letter also states that the embassy s inquiring as to whether the Soviet Parliament would desire having the agreement extended another year. At top, Molotov forwards the letter and signs in indelible blue pencil. Trimmed at margins with file holes in left margin, endorsement is not affected.
