Memphis, Tennessee newspaper ''The Commercial Appeal'' dated 6 April 1968, two days after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated in that city. 60 pages, detailing the murder of the civil rights leader and chilling early details on his assassin. Well-preserved newspaper has headlines including ''Rioters Ravage Major Cities'' and ''Violence Shatters Deceptive Calm''. Newspaper measures 15'' x 24'' unfolded and 15'' x 12'' folded. Toning throughout with minimal chips and wear, else very good condition.
