Seated in Mediation with his right hand down but not touching the tall Lotus "Throne", eyes closed and left hand holding a cup (of sacred oil) on his lap, the squat form of the Buddha and a prominent Sauvistika (reversed Swastika - ancient good luck symbol) on his chest identifies this as being from Mongolia. The deep patina is undisturbed and darkens to almost black on the reverse, which faced a fire of some sort for centuries. 14-1/4" tall, 16-17th C., the condition is excellent with only slight edge abrasions mostly around the base. Monumental appearance and highly important.
