Miljenko Bengez was born in Zagreb, Croatia in 1954. After courses at the Academy of fine Arts, Zagreb University , Miljenko traveled through Southern and Western Europe, and in 1985 returned to Zagreb to apprentice to Professor Vilim Svecnjak, the Croatian master.

He painted and exhibited with art association 'Group 69' in Croatia and abroad. His first one-man exhibition was in Ljubljana, Slovenia. After one year in Florence, Italy, which he spent in Campo del Restauro Lorenzo de Medici", he left for the United States and exhibited his paintings at Multiple Impressions Gallery in New York for years. In 1994. Miljenko's first one-man exhibition at S.E. Feinman Fine Arts Gallery (also in SOHO, N.Y.) was very successful and was followed by equally successful one-man exhibition in 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998. He had one-man exhibitions during the 1995-1998 period in Croatia -Zagreb, Dubrovnik, Varazdin, Punat, Komiza and Bjelovar, in Italy - Milano, Bologna, Ancona, Siena and Livorno and in USA - New York.

He is currently a member of the Croatia Artist Association and his paintings are in many private collections throughout Europe, Asia, USA and Latin America. His work can be seen in permanent exhibition in SOHO - New York, Singapore, Milan-Italy, Zagreb and Dubrovnik in Croatia.
