MICKEY COHEN'S CREDIT CARD WALLET: (1913 - 1976) American gangster who started his career as Bugsy Siegel's bodyguard, but said to have been absent at Siegel's death on orders from Meyer Lansky. Cohen later fought for control of the Los Angeles mob, surviving many attempts made by rival Jack Dragna to "eliminate" him, including dynamiting his home, shotgun blasts, and so on. Cohen won out once Dragna lost police protection and found himself in jail. After facing crime hearings with great aplomb, Cohen himself was finally nailed on tax charges, served ten years and jail, and "went straight". A neat Cohen relic, his plastic credit card wallet with nine see-through windows and including a credit card ans a hand-written note! The black plastic wallet measures about 9" x 4" fully opened, with nine transparent plastic card holders attached to each other. Included in the wallet is a United Air Lines Travel Card issued to "MICHAEL M COHEN" (his real name was "Meyer H. Cohen"), signed on verso but with almost all of the signature abraded. Also included is a handwritten note on a small piece of yellow lined paper with a lady's name and telephone written by Cohen thereon. Finally, the wallet encloses a "Toy Mart" redemption card showing that Cohen had purchased about $30 worth of toys, put towards a free gift. Very good condition. $500-700
