THE ULTIMATE!! INTRICATE AND FASCINATING!!!!

No wonder the name Meissen has come to mean the most
beautiful, the most outstanding porcelain in the world! One
glance at this remarkable candlestick is all one needs to know
the outstanding quality and beauty of this magical figure.

The underside of the piece has the famous Meissen mark -
a
pair of crossed swords.
The figure in this candlestick
appears to be the god, Pan. His pipes rest near him. He is
attended by his steadfast dog. It appears that Pan has been
grasped in the talons of a brillantly gilded eagle and is protected
by this symbol of loyalty and power.
There are pleasures to
be enjoyed on every side, from the draped and gilded base to
Pan's mantle, to the palm trees and the delicate candle holder at
the very top. Truly a remarkable achievement!!
12 1/2" h; 5
5/8" diameter of base; 7 1/2" wingspan.
Condition:
Remarkable in every way. The right arm had a much earlier
repair which needed to be redone properly. A professional
restorer has done an amazing repair which can hardly be
detected.
