MEDALS BY SUBJECT. Railways, The London and Birmingham Railway, Copper Medal, 1838, by G R Collis, façade of Euston Station – the Euston Arch, dimension details in exergue, naming “Philip Hardwick Esqr FRS Architect”, rev the Directors, named in 23-line inscription, 73mm, in velvet and silk-lined maroon leather case of issue, containing a note from Hardwick dated on the day the Railway opened (BHM 1874; JT 125a). Virtually as struck, good extremely fine, a very rare and interesting association item.
