Field-printed document, 1p. 8vo., "Camp near Harrison's Landing, Va.", July 4, 1862, in which Gen. George McClellan congratulates the troops of the Army of the Potomac for: "...taking the colors of the enemy...you have in every conflict beaten back your foes with enormous slaughter...Let them come and we will convert their repulse into final defeat...this Army shall enter the capital of their so-called Confederacy...the Union...must and shall be preserved, cost what it may in time, treasure and blood...". Sold with a scarce CDV image of McClellan regarding a photo album while seated and in uniform, backstamp by J. W. Black, Boston. Two pieces, very good.
