MAXFIELD PARRISH VINTAGE PRINT
COLOR PHOTOLITHOGRAPH 8'' X 10'', Maxfield Frederick Parrish (1870 - 1966), NH. Titled ''The Manager'', 1925. Placed in a vintage pie crust frame. Parrish was best known as an illustrator for children's books and magazines. He was educated at Haverford College, 1888-91. Also he studied art at the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts and was the pupil of Howard Pyle at Drexel Institute, Philadelphia. Maxfield Parrish is considered the most reproduced artist in America. Today, Parrish oils are found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Detroit Art Institute, and the De Young Museum to name a few of the major art institutions that house his work. In his quiet and non-assuming way, Parrish proved beyond the shadow of a doubt the old adage that illustration is at the heart of American Art in the 20th century. More info in the white binder.
