PISTOL. Cal. 30 Luger. S# 431v. Bbl. 3 7/8" w/ fin shaped sight, crown N proof (normally crown U) & 431 (normal S# range of 400v-1200v). Mfg. for distribution by Stoeger's of New York w/ full markings plus GERMANY export marks. "V" in S# indicates rare variation by Mauser having toggle assembly w/ DWM logo; references estimate 500 or less mfg.. Receiver w/ commercial crown N proof (normally crown U), American Eagle over chamber, GERMANY over front of ejector & "A.F. Stoeger Inc" over "New York.". Right frame rail marked "LUGER - REGISTERED U.S. PATENT OFFICE."; front of frame marked "GERMANY" between "431" & "v". Rear toggle, takedown lever & sideplate numbered 31. LOADED marked extractor numbered 30 & all blued rather than in the white "LOADED" side section. Frame marked "SAFE" showing w/ lever in down position. Strawed sm. parts, unmarked checkered walnut grips & w/ stock lug removed. All components (except strawed) are blued including trigger lever in sideplate; only in the white items are safety bar & locking portion of hold open latch. Noticeable premium for Mauser mfg. MAGS: good, correct tin plated 8 rd. w/ light staining & gray tone. Correct unmarked wood base w/ slight scratches in dimples. CONDITION: very good plus appearance w/ nice appearing in the white muzzle. Light scratches in grip area & very faint pin prick to peppery oxidation. Very nice straw colors w/ only trigger showing some fading. Very good grips w/ slight hand wear; near excellent bore. Very nice American Eagle Luger of uncommon Mauser mfg.
