MAUSER S/42 CODE 1938 DATED LUGER SEMI-AUTO

PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 5943i. Bbl. 4" w/ fin shaped front sight, numbered “5943” & no visible proof. Chamber dated 1938. Matching numbers on frame, sear, trigger, takedown lever, toggles & breech block; firing pin numbered “16”. No other readable numbers due to condition. Mottled brown Franzite checkered plastic grips. MAGS: good plus blued 8 rd. w/ aluminum base having portion of eagle proof near spine. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: good brown flap holster w/ buckle & strap retention. Double belt loops on back w/ portion of maker’s name in arched form appearing as “BOCKER” plus faint eagle over “WaA 387”. Original loading tool w/ eagle “655” proof. CONDITION: poor at best w/ overall appearance of extreme pitting, chemically cleaned to in the white appearance, safety lever broken & bar not moveable even when tapped from inside. Grips noticeably lacking full dimension. Slight forward bend to front strap. Poor bore w/ noticeable wear & pitting. Fit of toggle to receiver restricts disassembly unless rear pivot is removed prior to sliding off frame. Takedown lever does not fully engage its poorly fit sideplate. Deemed inoperable in present state due to toggle fit to receiver but comprised of many valuable components. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Jack Verret Sr. (22-863/NW). CURIO. $300-500.
