Walter Bellingrath, the area's first Coca Cola distributor, purchased the 65 acres as a humble fishing camp. The 10,500 square-foot home designed by George B. Rogers was furnished with Mrs. Bellingrath's extensive decorative arts collection. The estate is designed for beautiful year round color, camillias in the winter, azaleas in the spring, roses in the summer, chrysanthemums in the autumn, and Christmas lights during the holiday season.
