This original car was discovered many years ago up north by the original collector who kept it under pampered dry conditions here in Florida. The car was rarely driven and had a former owner who methodically cared for it.
The 1956 Corvette was not only fresh looking but was a vast improvement over the first generation in virtually every respect. While its changes were more evolutionary than revolutionary, all the former version's inferior elements were removed and the superior ones were now emphasized. At $3,120, the price had jumped by only a nominal amount -- around $200 -- over the previous year's (V-8-equipped) model.
This Vette has the 265ci, 225hp Engine (2 4 bbl. carburetors). It is Cascade Green with a Beige interior & soft top in addition to having a matching hard top. Only 8.36 % of Corvettes made that year were painted this color scheme.
And that is of the only 3,467 models made that year. In one of the photos provided the former owner claimed the car had under 1000 miles. There is no way we can verify this claim in any shape,form or fashion.
It is a beautiful car that could be made into a real show stopper.
