MARTIALLY MARKED COLT 1851 NAVY REVOLVER. Cal. 36 Perc. Fine martial Navy with 7-1/2” oct bbl, blue and case colored with brass trigger guard and backstrap and 1-pc walnut grips. The left side of the frame has s tiny “U.S.” below Colt’s Patent and the grips have a good cartouche on each side. It has small “K” inspector initials on the various parts and on the left side of the grip. One line New York City address with dashes. The trigger guard is the small type. SN 50833. CONDITION: Very fine plus, all matching except the wedge, which is numbered “6547” and the lever, which is numbered “0853” which may have been an assembler’s mistake at Colt. Bbl retains 95-97% strong, bright, glossy blue. The rammer retains most of its case hardening turned silver with traces of color in the sheltered areas. The frame retains 30-40% faded case colors, bright in the sheltered areas. The hammer has traces of colors, being mostly a silver-gray patina. The trigger guard and grip frame are an even medium mustard patina with a battered butt screw. The cylinder retains 30-40% thin original blue mixed with patina and has 97-98% crisp original Naval battle scene. Grips are exceedingly fine with very minor edge wear and a few handling and use marks. “RHKW” cartouche on the right grip and “ADK” on left grip are faint but legible. Strong bright bore with scattered fine pitting. Crisp mechanics. 4-49960
