This is an original handmade bowie hunting knife from the Montana Territory Knives of Bozeman, Montana showing an artwork scrimshaw of a Montana Blackfoot Chief. The scrimshaw artwork shows a Montana Blackfoot Indian Chief or Elder wearing an impressive eagle feather headdress. The piece features a D2 high-carbon, high-chromium, air hardening tool steel that makes for an effective combination of wear resistance and toughness. The knife shows a beautiful blacksmith hammered finish along the blade for a rustic natural iron appeal. The piece has been paired with a set of premium wild animal Buffalo bone scales that have been artfully scrimshawed showing a Native American Indian Chief wearing a full feather headdress. Also shown in this stacked hidden full tang design is six layers of premium cocobolo wood. The knife has also been paired with a Great American Bison Buffalo leather hand crafted sheath which can be worn on the belt vertically or horizontally. The knife is in brand new condition and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity along with a Lifetime warranty. The blade is marked with the “MONTANA TERRITORY KNIVES BOZEMAN MONTANA” stamping which shows the outline of Montana. The knife measures overall 12.5” in length with the blade being 8”.
