Additional Information : This is an Original Aquating by Jacques Villon after an Original painting of Marie Laurencin. After the First World War Villon engraved a series of Aquatints after paintings of the Modern masters, such as Matisse, Picasso, Braque, Derain, Laurencine, Signac, Renoir, Cezanne, Vlaminck, Bonnard, Manet, Dufy, Modigiliani, Van Gogh, and others.
In this series, Jacques Villon based the image on a famous painting of a well known artist and created the Aquatint in co-operation with the artist. These beautiful works were printed in limited edition (normally only 200 impressions) and were all hand signed by the original artist.

Our work is from the edition of 200 impressions. Whereas, later editions by "La Chalcographie du Louvre" were not hand signed or hand numbered.
This Aquatint is Hand Signed in pencil "Marie Laurencin" at the lower right margin by Marie Laurencin herself.
It is also Hand Numbered in pencil "192/200" at the lower right margin, beside the signature.
Furthermore the work is signed in the plate and dated by Jacques Villon: "grave par Jacques Villon 1924" at the lower right margin.
The work was printed in a limited edition of only 200 Impressions.

Condition : Good Condition, except of peeling marks on the backside of the paper, that do not effect the image in the front, and one short tear in the upper margins
