Color vintage glossy 9.5 x 7 photo, affixed to its original 12.5 x 12 mount, of Johnson signing a bill at his desk as several gentleman look on, signed and inscribed in black felt tip “To Admiral W. J. Smith, with appreciation—Lyndon B. Johnson.” In fine condition, with some scattered light surface marks to image. In 1966, Johnson appointed Smith to the highest position attainable in the United States Coast Guard, the Commandant of the US Coast Guard with the rank of admiral.
