TLS as president, one page, 6.75 x 8.75, White House letterhead, December 23, 1964. Letter to Mr. and Mrs. Ben Oehlert, in part: "Many thanks for the generous shipment of citrus fruit from Florida which arrived a few days ago. As always, you two nice people have provided the Johnson household with a gift that we can all enjoy during this holiday season, and we are grateful." In fine condition, with toning along the extreme right edge.

After graduating from the Wharton School and the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, Oehlert (1909–1985) went into private practice and was later hired by the Department of State to work in the Mexican Claims Agency. He spent several years working in top offices for Coca-Cola, W. R. Grace & Co., and the Minute Maid Company before being appointed by President Lyndon B. Johnson to become Ambassador to Pakistan in 1967, a post he held until his retirement in 1969.
