Johnson, measuring 5.25? long, used by the president on April 5, 1968, in signing H.R. 1308, An Act to establish the Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site. Mounted and matted with the top of the original box (also bearing a facsimile signature) and the original descriptive slip in a shadowbox to an overall size of 9.75 x 9.25. In fine condition. The Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site is the site of the first integrated ironworks in North America, founded by John Winthrop the Younger and in operation from 1646 to 1670.
