TLS signed “Lyndon,” one page, 7 x 9, Vice President letterhead, June 14, 1961. Letter to E. H. Foley, in full: "If my words were eloquent it was because the subject matter—to wit Ed Foley—deserved eloquence and high praise. I enjoyed the opportunity to tell the people about your splendid accomplishments and you can be certain I will never pass up such an opportunity in any circumstances." Affixed to a same-size mount and in fine condition, with faint overall toning. Edward H. Foley was a Washington lawyer who served as under secretary of the Treasury during the Truman administration. A Democratic Party fund-raiser, Foley was the general chairman of the Kennedy-Johnson Inaugural Committee in 1961.
