Boldly signed in ink on the fly-leaf: ''To / Philip F. Fahey - / with best wishes, / Lyndon B. Johnson.'' A skillful and uniquely personal analysis of the former President's career by a respected Washington columnist and longtime Johnson confidante. Runs 273pp. Bound in red-orange cloth boards with gilt lettering to front board and black print lettering to spine. Measures 6'' x 8.5''. Faint toning to leaves and some minor staining to front free endpaper, else near fine. Unclipped $5.00 dustjacket is in very good condition save for paper loss to spine and chipping to hinges and edges.
