Lyndon B. Johnson typed letter signed as Senate Majority Leader. Letter upon U.S. Senate Office of the Democratic Leader stationery is dated 3 January 1954. Addressed to Mrs. James R.R. Wright, letter reads in part, ''Thank you for your letter...telling me that your son, James Richard, has completed and forwarded all forms required for his commission in the U.S. Air Force. I hope that your and his anxieties are over and that the commission will come through as expected in February...[signed] Lyndon B. Johnson''. Accompanied by the free franked envelope bearing Johnson's printed signature and Wright's U.S. Air Force Certificate of Proficiency, one of the forms referenced. Single-page letter measures 8'' x 10.5''. Creasing, else near fine.
