Invitation announces the wedding of President Lyndon Johnson’s eldest daughter to Marine Captain Charles S. Robb on December 9 at the White House. Printed on 5 x 7” ecru colored card stock with fabric covering, it consists of approximately 20 pages outlining the ceremony. This was the first marriage of a President’s daughter to take place in the White House since 1914. The groom later served as Lieutenant Governor of Virginia (1978-1982), then Governor (1982-1986) and then as a U.S. Senator from Virginia (1989-2001). From the American Industrialist Collection.
