A renowned Mexican painter belonging to the generation of La Ruptura, Luis Lopez-Loza studied at La Esmeralda, at the Higher Center for Applied Arts in Mexico and at the Pratt Graphic Center in New York. He has a great ideological commitment and is in the constant search to open paths for painting and sculpture. He is a great color seeker, with a highly refined silver that mixes tones to generate luminosity in certain areas. He is also an experimenter of styles, studying from the figurative to the abstract, playing with geometric shapes and elements of nature. He has been awarded the Honorable Mention by the House of the Americas in Havana, Cuba and the National Award of Sciences and Arts by the Federal Government of Mexico. Throughout his career he has presented a host of solo and group exhibitions in Mexico, the United States, Japan, Spain, Holland, Colombia and Ecuador.
