Italian composer (1760-1842) known for his operas and sacred music; Beethoven regarded him as the greatest of his contemporaries. Manuscript DS, in French, signed “L. Cherubini,” one page, 7.75 x 11.75, April 17, 1826. Document from the Paris Conservatory, signed by composer Luigi Cherubini (once in the top box, and also endorsed vertically in the left margin), violinist and conductor Francois Habeneck, composer and teacher Henri-Montan Berton, composer Fromental Halevy, and administrator Jean-Baptiste-Roger Fauchon d'Henneville. Matted and framed with a portrait of Cherubini to an overall size of 23.5 x 19. In very good to fine condition, with two folds, some light creasing, and a small repaired tear to the bottom.
