Lucille Ball Personal Hand Signed Letter To Eight-Time Emmy Winning Producer on Personal "Lucy" Stationery - This piece is a personal letter, written by Lucille Ball. The letter is printed on personalized "Lucy" stationery, and hand signed by Lucille. The letter is dated September 21, 1981, and is addressed to two producers, congratulating them on a great award show. Lucy said of the event, "I am so glad that I was a part of something you should be very proud of. I know I am." The letter is in excellent condition, with no tears or fading. The letter measures 6.4" x 9.4" (approximately). Lucille Ball (1911-1989) was an American actress, comedian, model, and producer, best known as the star of the self-produced sitcoms, I Love Lucy, The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, The Lucy Show, and others. In 1962, she became the first woman to run a major television studio, Desilu Productions, which produced many popular television series, including Mission: Impossible and Star Trek. Ball was nominated for thirteen Primetime Emmy Awards, and won four times. She was the recipient of the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award in 1979, the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Kennedy Center Honors in 1986, and the Governors Award from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in 1989. Lucille Ball was awarded not one but two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one for contributions to motion pictures, and one for television.
