Lucille Ball ALS
"WINNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS BY THE AUCTIONEER ONCE ALL BIDS HAVE BEEN PROCESSED TO DETERMINE THE WINNER FOR EACH LOT."
A sweet Lucille Ball autograph letter signed to her husband of 28 years Gary Morton. Dated 19 December on Gary's birthday -- an occasion which Lucy regrettably forgot. Written upon the letterhead of a store on Melrose Blvd. that Lucy was visiting that day. Letter reads in full, ''Dearest Darling, I'm so unhappy I can hardly pilot down Melrose because I just absolutely forgot to say Happy Birthday this morning - I didn't get Dec 19th registered on my brain - I'm so embarrassed - I love you - and I know I must have hurt you so much this morning - Please forgive me - and accept this gift for your new office. These are 230,000,000 year-old stones - from a depth of ten thousand fifty feet, from New Mexico - now you can compare my love with the two hundred and thirty million year old stones and the depth of my love with the 10,050 feet down - I guess you get the message -- I love you - Lucy''. Lucy's handwriting is large, filling up almost three pages of the 8.5'' x 11'' sheets. Written on front sides only. Folds and light creasing, else fine.
