Auction Details
Welcome to Lower Canada Auction's ninth sale. The success of last March’s auction captured the attention of many new consignors, allowing us to put together another quality auction. We strongly recommend that bidders make the trek to Montreal to attend in person as floor bidders have priority. With such an interesting array of paper notes, as well as tokens and decimals, we expect bidding will be strong. This sale includes over 700 lots and includes many raw and uncertified coins as well as a wide range of key-dates in most categories: tokens, paper money, and Canadian decimal.
As many of you are probably aware, there have been a lot of changes in the paper money sector. The Journey section of the Charlton catalogue as been entirely redone to reflect this new reality. The section is now divided into 3 parts; Regular Notes, Single Replacement Notes (SRN) & Sheet Replacement Notes (SRN). Many sections have been changed to highlight the potential rarity of several such notes. This sale offers a large assortment of these, however, due to the late release of the new Charlton catalogue, we didn’t have time to update all the Ranges, SNR & SRN in this auction catalogue, so we recommend that you pay particular attention to this section. Lastly, since this is a fast evolving market, the prices in the Charlton catalogue are necessarily on the cautious side. Our price estimates come mainly from specialized paper money dealers.
If you have any questions prior to the viewing, or would like to consign in the March 2009 auction, give us a call at 450-723-1204. The success of the auction is due to you and we wish to thank you all!
Good luck and happy bidding.
