American author, journalist, and traveler (1892–1981). Two items: TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, February 12, 1975. Thomas writes to an aspiring journalist. In part: “As for the best way to break into the world of journalism, well, my suggestion would be for you to start out getting a job as a reporter on a small town paper—even if at first you have to work for nothing.”; and a glossy 8 x 10 photo of Thomas, signed and inscribed in black felt tip, “Here’s to you Jim! Lowell Thomas.” In fine condition, with some scattered light creases to left side of photo. RRAuction COA.
