A most interesting early 20th century souvenir spoon in Sterling Silver 24.5 cm, 28. grams), not attributed to a location but entirely dedicated to a complex depiction of underground mining. This starts at the very top of the handle, where a hand-winch operator, above ground and with trees and mountains behind, lowers a bucket at the end of a long rope that extends all the way down the handle of the sppon to the bowl, where two minors are actively excavating a shaft by pick-axe, in high-relief detail. Even the back of the spoon's handle depicts a pick-axe and shovel at top, tied together with a rope that meanders all the way back down the shaft to the top of the bowl, where both the word "STERLING" and .925/1000 appear. Among the nicer souvenir spoons we've handled to date.
