Union officer (1838–1894) who served on the staff of Major General McClellan, and a claimant to the French throne from 1848 until his death. Original 2.25 x 4 carte-de-visite photo by an anonymous studio, signed in the lower border in black ink. Image a bit faded, mounting remnants to reverse, and a couple strokes of signature light, but legible, otherwise fine condition.
