French statesman and historian (1811–1882) who was forced to abandon his post as a member of the provisional government and flee to England after the Revolution of 1848. Untranslated ALS in French, one page, 5.25 x 7.5, no date. Blanc pens a graceful letter to “Mon cher concitogen.” In very good condition, with intersecting folds lightly passing through the signature, scattered light creasing, light toning, stray ink marks, and a small tear to the right edge.
