<B>Louis Alexandre Berthier Letter Signed as a Major General.</B></I> One page, 8.25” x 12.5”, Austerlitz, February 14 no date , in French. Berthier was Napoleon's Chief of Staff and was later made a Marshal of the French Empire. Though the reference to Austerlitz would date this letter to 1805, Berthier was by then already a Marshal so further research would certainly be in order for this document. With the usual fold creases, toned, especially at the margins, with a later small biographical sketch of Berthier mounted under the body of the letter, else very good. <I>Ex. Henry E.
