Contract signed "Lou Groza," "Paul C. Brown," and "Bert Bell," one page, 8.5 x 19.25, June 23, 1951. Fully executed NFL canary-yellow standard players contract between the Cleveland Browns and Lou Groza, dated and signed by Groza and Paul Brown on June 19, 1951, and signed by NFL Commissioner Bert Bell on June 23, 1951. The Browns agree to pay their kicker $10,800 for the 1951 season. All three of these signers are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame; additionally signed by two witnesses. The careful signatures reveal ("9/10-10") in overall potency. In fine condition, with expected filing folds. Nicknamed 'The Toe,' Groza was at the heart of the Browns championship teams, leading the league in field goals in 1951, 1952, and 1953. Although the Browns lost the 1951 NFL Championship game, Groza knocked through a long 52-yard field goal—a record distance for a championship or Super Bowl game that stood for 42 years.
