Lot of two original German letters, one with its original stamped envelope; the first circa 1938 when translated is referring to Germany’s annexation of parts of Czechoslovakia; the other (with the envelope) is from Gauleiter HartmannLauterbacher to General Reinecke of the Oberkommando der Wehrmacht. Lauterbacher was Gauleiter of South-Hannover-Brunswick from 1940-1945; prior to that time frame he was largely involved with the Hitler Youth; after the war, he escaped from a prison camp in 1948 and fled to Italy where he was re-captured and returned to Germany; he apparently escaped again and moved to Argentina. Both of these historic documents are contained in wood and glass display cases. Est.: $150-$300.
