Lot of two antique collectible medallions including a bronze commemorative to Augustus Saint-Gaudens, designer of the U.S. “St. Gaudens” Double Eagle Gold coin with raised imprint on one side of Christopher Columbus and raised imprint on the reverse of the St. Gaudens coin above “Aspet”, the home and workshop of St. Gaudens in Cornish, New Hampshire, approx. 3” in diameter, expertly accomplished and with an uncleaned patina; the second medallion is brass, approx.2-1/4” in diameter and commemorating the World’s Columbian Exposition held in Chicago in 1892-1893. This medallion is also in untouched condition showing raised imprint on one side of the Exposition and signing of the Declaration ofIndependence with the landing of the Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock on the reverse side. Two really nice period pieces, in riker case. Est.: $150-$200.
