Lot of two Mexican edge weapons. Number 1 is a Classic Mexican Bowie knife with Eagle head pommel and brass mounts with fluted bone grip and etched blade with original scabbard. The blade is marked “Oaxaca” with “A.M.” makers mark and is nicelyetched showings stag and doe. The reverse shows a slogan which loosely translated means “when you see my reflection prepare to die”. The knife measures 13 ¼” overall with 8 ½” clip point blade. The condition is very good plus to near fine andwe would date the knife at 1920s to 1950s. Number 2 is a fighting machete with original leather scabbard showing carved dark horn grip in form of horse head with nicely engraved blade showing makers name and slogans. The machete is in good to very good condition showing nice carving of the horse head and noted Mexican arms and author Lee Silva dates this weapon to the period of the Mexican Revolution.
