Lot of collectible paper items. Number one is a manual entitled Steuben’s Regulations for the order and discipline of the troops of the United States dated 1807. The manual is leather bound and measures approximately 7” x 4 ¾” inches. The inside front cover is nicely panned in ink, “presented to Milford Historical Society by Mrs. Marinda A. Burns Smith”, the title page is torn probably with a name removed in that area which may havebeen an important autograph or personalization. The other pages except the last two are complete although somewhat damaged and needing conservation. A rarely encountered early US military manualpredating the war of 1812 and in the early federal period. Included with the lot is three issues of a history of the Civil War by Benson J. Lossing which is illustrated with Brady war photographs published incooperation with the War Memorial Association of New York copyright 1912 issues number 1,7 and 4 all in good condition with minor tatters and losses.
