<B>Lot of Union Documents and Manuscripts</B></I> consisting of approximately 36 items of various types and varieties including the following: <BR><B>Muster Roll</B></I>- 1863, Company "A", 14th Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry (extensive tape repairs). <BR><B>Discharge Papers</B></I>- March 20, 1865, Sgt. George Sauer of Company "G" NY 169th Infantry, discharged for "gunshot wound received in action" (Cold Harbor, leg amputated). <BR><B>Special Orders</B></I>- 1863, manuscript No. 123, 44th Regiment MA Vols, giving Private J. H. Elliot permission to go to Beaufort NC for a day. <BR><B>General Orders</B></I>- 1864, printed No. 205, War Department, "The President of the United States directs that General Orders, No. 106, dated August 14, 1862, dismissing Captain LYMAN M. KELLOGG, 18th U.S. Infantry, be revoked..." <BR><B>Richard C. Drum</B></I>- Printed Special Order Signed. <BR><B>Lieut. Gen U. S. Grant Special Orders</B></I> No. 70, manuscript, from "Head-Quarters Division of the Mississippi", Nashville, March 16, 1864. In full: "All enlisted men on detached service at these Headquarters, as Clerks and Mail Messengers and not otherwise ordered, will report to Maj. Gen. W. T. Sherman for orders." Based on the date of this document, one can imagine that Sherman's orders would probably involve a little march to Georgia!
