<B>Lot of Two First Ladies and an Australian Nurse,</B></I> including: First Lady <B>Grace Coolidge,</B></I> a card signed, 5.25” x 3.5”, Coolidge (1879-1957) was the wife of Calvin Coolidge and First Lady of the United States from 1923 to 1929; First Lady <B>Frances Cleveland,</B></I> an autograph note signed, 5.75” x 3.25”,on a personal card, signed “<I>Frances F. Cleveland Preston</B></I>”, 10 Mch, 1930, Princeton, New Jersey, along with the hand franked envelope. Frances Clara Folsom Cleveland Preston (1864-1947), wife of Grover Cleveland, was First Lady of the United States from 1886 to 1889 and 1893 to 1897. After her husband's death, she married Thomas J. Preston, Jr., a professor of archeology, and remained a figure of note in the Princeton community until she died; and, <B>Sister Elizabeth Kenny</B></I> (1880-1952), an Australian bush nurse famous for her innovative treatment of Poliomyelitis (polio). She developed her clinical procedures for that disease between 1928 and 1940, well before the vaccine Jonas Salk developed was tested and used to prevent polio.
