Lot of Two (2) Reproduction Helmets: (1) Persian Khula Khud, 8'' in. dia. round body made of steel with relief decorations hammered into the surface. There are two round pipe devices for feather plumes, a nose guard that is fixed in place, and a spike on top. There are numerous holes around the bottom edge for chain mail, but none is present. Spike is hand forged and riveted to the top. Condition is good, with a dark thin rust patina over all. There is no lining. (2) European style round-bodied helmet, with moveable visor and faceguard. Helmet is a type used in the 1600's in England and Europe during the Cromwell period. The rear features a lobstertail type neck guard made of three individual riveted plates. There are triangular moveable ear guards (one detached but present) on each side with holes pierced into the metal plates, no chinstrap is present. There is no lining, just a black-painted finish to the inside of the helmet, and a one-inch dent to top. Condition is good, with a lightly applied rusted finish under a clear lacquer finish on the outside of the entire helmet. Est.: $200-$300/lot.
