Lot includes one Indian War Springfield Arsenal wooden shipping crate for 20 Springfield Trapdoor .45-70 rifles. 58" long by 18"inch wide by 14 inches deep.  The piece does not have the lid.  All original condition.  The inside pieces slide into the grooves on either side of the crate to hold the end of the rifle barrel and the buttstock. These pieces are modern and the exact copies made years ago when eight crates had come off Bannerman's Island in the 1960's where they had been used as shelves. As a result the lids and butt/barrel pieces were missing.  Lot also includes Indian War wooden box without lid that held the boxes of lead .45 Revolver bullets for reloading cartridges, as well as one Frankford Arsenal Shipping Crate without lid for 1000 Carbine Rounds. **Wooden crates are in worn/used/aged condition. No rot or major damage. Overall in very good condition.** $800-$1,200
