<B>Lot of Three Documents Signed by Hamilton Fish as Secretary of State.</B></I> The lot includes two beautiful credentials documents, each 12” x 18”, on wonderfully watermarked paper, one with a blind-stamped Department of State seal, the other with printed seal. Each document gives the name and physical description of the bearer and bades anyone encountering the bearer to provide “aid and protection”. The third signed item has been clipped from a larger document and has the red seal of the Department of State. All documents range from the 1870-74 period and each bears a bright, bold “<I>Hamilton Fish</B></I>” signature. The larger documents have the usual fold creases but are in fine condition.
