Lot of Three (3) European 19th Century Swords: (1) French Briquette Artillery Enlisted Sword, without scabbard, 25'' blade with single narrow fuller at top. Cast brass grip and ''D'' guard. Arsenal stamps and ''VERSAILLES'' on guard edges, and arsenal stamp on the quillion tip. Condition is fair with light red rust over blade. Brass handle shows a dark uncleaned patina. (2) German Hunting Sword, with stag horn grip, 23-3/4'' straight blade with single narrow fuller at top. Blade is marked with a stamped crescent moon and three stars on both sides. Brass crossguard, knuckle bow, and pommel decorated in relief with animals, bearded god, and warrior. Round grip is antler or stag horn. Condition is fair with a dark black rust patina over blade, and numerous edge nicks. Tang is bent slightly cocking the grip and knuckle bow to one side. Brass of the guard has remnants of a gold gilt finish that is mostly gone. Stag horn grip is sound and shows age and light use. (3) European Double-Edged Short Sword, with brass handle. Blade measures 19-3/8'' long and 2-5/8'' wide at the base, with narrow central fuller on both sides. Handle is cast brass with a double quillion and cast in lines at the grip area. Pommel is pointed on either end. Condition is fair with the blade having a dark brown/black rust patina and a few edge nicks. Handle is nice showing light age and use, with a pleasing dark patina to the brass. Est.: $250-$400/lot.
